Bat and Ball Freehouse

15 Bat and Ball Ln, Wrecclesham, Farnham GU10 4SA, UK – 01252 792108

Latest menu is better than ever! Great food and reasonable prices. Lovely location as ever. Very dog friendly inside and out!

I love this place. The staff are super friendly and the food is top notch. They rotate the menu regularly too so you don't get bored of it. Very reasonable prices, especially considering the quality of the food. They also allow dogs in there and make a big fuss of them which gets a big thumbs up in my book. 5 stars all day long.

The Mulberry

Station Hill, Farnham GU9 8AD, UK – 01252 726673

Stopped at this wine bar recently for food and drink. There was a large selection of burgers. Would recommend the Mexican burger cooked, tasted very good there, so would go again. Good choice of beers etc. Overall I recommend this place...

[update] Came back and ordered the Gypsy again, but this time was a totally different experience and not for the better. The burger was much smaller, the egg was over-cooked, the tiny amount of hollandaise was split and the onions were missing. Really disappointing. So many pubs offer good food, but very few actually deliver. The mulberry follows the tried and tested path to delivering good food - "do one thing but do it well". The burgers here are amazing, service is fast, prices are decent, portions are good. I will be back and next time with enough appetite to try the puddings...

The Wheatsheaf

19 West St, Farnham GU9 7DR, UK – 01252 717135

Popped in for a meal with family, was expecting a nice pub, was much more impressive than I’d expected. Parked for free in the evening on the main road within 30 seconds of the door. Modern feel, great food and really friendly and attentive service. Will definitely be returning.

As someone with extensive allergies these guys where so accommodating. I emailed ahead and the chef made me my own menu where everything was free from. It was so lovely. The fact that I could choose anything of my own menu, so many choices! I ordered the hake and it was perfect, you’d never be able to tell it was gluten free, dairy free, egg free soy free etc!The food was incredible as were the cocktails. We left feeling incredibly full and happy. Service was so attentive and really genuine people. Would recommend if in farnham looking for a nice lunch! Or a cocktail in the sun. :)

Cafe Piccolo

84 West St, Farnham GU9 7EN, UK – 01252 723277

Nice place. Good pasta and sauces. Energetic and helpful staff. Busy night but they brought the bill immediately once my dad started to feel unwell

Cafe Piccolo is owned by Darius, who you will likely see when you visit. Darius sets himself and his restaurant apart by being individual and this is exemplified by his willingness to make the customer feel special. You want something special? Darius goes to the kitchen and out comes special. I challenged him to create an Italian style burger. Something which would fit the menu and the ethos of the restaurant. A cheeky ask but I figured meatballs could become burgers and pizza dough the bun. What he immediately did was to go to the kitchen and work with the chef to create a new sauce for a Meatball Pizza. So out came the pizza with a garlic and chilli sauce and big meatballs. It was fantastic. Ask him for the Meatball Pizza, let him know you want it! So, yes he gets 5 stars. Great food and a great customer attitude without compromising the authenticity of the restaurant. And thanks to the chef too, who must has rolled his eyes!

Thai Lotusland

Côte Brasserie

26 Lion and Lamb Way, Farnham GU9 7LL, UK – 01252 820194

Very tasty breakfast! Would definitely arrive early to secure a seat or book a table, they get busy very fast!

Good service. Not too noisy. Steaks were a bit chewy.

Chinese Restaurants serving the Rowledge area

KEIS RESTAURANT LTD

Guildford Road, Runfold, Farnham GU10 1PG, UK – 01252 782587

Absolutely fantastic service from a lovely team. Food always tastes great, is presented nicely and the resaurant always has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. If I could give 6 stars, I would.

Probably the best Chinese restaurant around. Good food, good service, lovely staff. Go there for Chinese New Year if you want a real treat! Takeaway prices are very reasonable and they're always really quick, even when they're busy!

Kar Ling Kwong

47-51 East St, Farnham GU9 7SW, UK – 01252 714854

Nice food and great service but £25 per head in December banquet and usually £19.95 You have to have minimum of 2 so it's now £50 and your asked for a 10% service charge so costs £55 for a couple. We had 2 coco cola at £3.50 each so pricey. Don't get me wrong though food was spot on and service real good but would think twice about going back due to price

Good service excellent food have served the community for many years

Bon East

36 Weydon Ln, Farnham GU9 8UP, UK – 01252 724888

The food here is top notch. My wife is half-Chinese and very picky about Chinese food but she is a big fan of this place. You'll be lucky to get in on a Friday or Saturday night though, it's always packed out! Best to go mid-week if you can.

Great service, friendly staff and delicious food. You will never regret coming here and good takeaway too!

Indian Restaurants and takeaways in or near Rowledge

Farnham Tandoori

47 West St, Farnham GU9 7DX, UK – 01252 716853

Food was ok. Staff were ok, but not overly warm or inviting. Small restaurant in the centre of town. Options for vegetarians.

Amazing. They were so polite. The food was very tasty and pretty hoy. A little bit too small

Darjeeling Indian Restaurant

23-25 South St, Farnham GU9 7QU, UK – 01252 714322

I first went to the Darjeeling in 1991. The staff were always really friendly and the food always great. 27 years on and the premises has doubled in size and decor brought right up to date. I was also delighted to be recognised by some of the staff all these years later given I was only 20 at the time!! Original staff and new staff are still friendly, accommodating, squeezing us in on a Saturday night!! The food was as good as ever and the service matched the food. A really enjoyable experience and our definite 'go to' for a sit down curry.

Restaurant is located conveniently to central Farnham car parks. The menu offers an extensive array of starters, main meat dishes and vegetable sides. The list of speciality dishes (i.e in addition to the chicken tikka and jalfrezi) is vast and importantly naan and rice options are available. I went with the unimaginatively named 'chef special' - which is normally dangerous, but one can't say no to a keema - tandoori chicken curry combo. All the curries I sampled were good, and naans were well cooked. Service was efficient and friendly. Solid four star effort.

Italian Pasta and Pizza Restaurants

Zizzi Farnham

68 Castle St, Farnham GU9 7LN, UK – 01252 719231

Open the latest in the area, however the service is long (we often had to ask for water & order a salad with fish in general and it takes a while to come). Nice interior/exterior design. Good lighting!

Lovely staff. Beautiful restaurant. Gluten free pizza needs some work. Not good.

Pizza Express

74 Castle Street, Farnham GU9 7LS, UK – 01252 733220

Yummy thin crust padana pizza and peroni. Great service and location too.

The building has kept the original layout which adds a quirky element to the dining experience, The restaurant fills a series of rooms meaning loud groups can create their din without disturbing more intimate reserved diners in other rooms. Some staff look a little too alternative feeling unprofessional

Cafe Piccolo

84 West St, Farnham GU9 7EN, UK – 01252 723277

Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

Giggling Squid

67/68 Castle St, Farnham GU9 7LN, UK – 01252 727552

Been a couple of times. Amazing food, lovely front of house team. Only issue was sticky tables and menus, give both a better wipe down in the changeover. Otherwise, fantastic!

Great flavoursome food. Nice decor and friendly staff- downside is the mandatory 10% service charge

Heavens Kitchen

62A East St, Farnham GU9 7TJ, UK – 01252 725532

After two visits: brilliant. Delightful owners, attentive staff, sensible wines at sensible prices, and steak. Lots of delicious, juicy, perfectly cooked beef. I went as a couple, and again as part of a big group. Not for vegetarians. And a bit of an out of the way location: worth it though!

The food at this restaurant never disappoints. I had a rump steak and it just melted in my mouth. The staff are very warm and friendly. Would recommend this restaurant for catch ups and dinner for two.

Bill's Farnham Restaurant

6-7 Castle St, Farnham GU9 7HR, UK – 01252 716589

An excellent place for breakfast. I had a traditional one and it was non greasy, I'm as they say a big lad and even couldn't eat it all. A real old world charm with excellent service.

Good food lovely staff, the food tasted wonderful how ever when i went home i was Extremely ill from the food i would not recommend eating a big meal there as it may make you feel ill apart from that my experience there was Lovely. service time was quick and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Wine Bars and Cocktail Bars

Borelli's Wine Bar & Grill

Borelli Yard, Farnham GU9 7NU, UK – 01252 735254

Very pretty quiet square. Sophisticated feel. Good service, food and drink. Set back from the main road so very peaceful.

Nice upmarket bar for an afternoon drink, food seems reasonable and the outdoor seating is lovely. It's also a good night out on the weekend, drinks are a little pricey however.

The Botanist Farnham

4-5, Town Hall Buildings, The Borough, Farnham GU9 7ND, UK – 01252 718089

Love it here. Great food and great venue. Can stop off for a small bit to eat or full meal. Pretty awesome place for families or couples. Even do birthdays too!

Great food, lovely setting and friendly staff. Not cheap but a nice treat. Lovely for brunch.

Slug & Lettuce

9-11 East St, Farnham GU9 7RX, UK – 01252 722011

Great staff and a great experience! I went to the slug and lettuce for a cocktail making masterclass and it was great fun. I would suggest anyone looking for an adult idea for a party or even just a bit of fun to do this. Moreover, the drinks and food are extremely competitive in their price and by far the cheapest place to drink in Farnham.

Didn't expect much from a chain pub, but for the money I think they do pretty well. I would say the food and drinks are inexpensive. Good, friendly service. The food arrived very quickly.
